Mucus, Medals & Mayhem
Trust Fun is brought to you by Kintsugi

When Mugsy started scaling across states, we obsessed over ops, shipping, and ad performance—but forgot about the sexy stuff… like tax compliance. Turns out, all it takes is enough sales in a new state and boom: you’ve triggered tax nexus, even without a warehouse. That’s where Kintsugi could’ve save our ass. It’s an AI-powered platform that flags sales tax exposure before it’s a problem, auto-files across every state, saves us 9+ hours/month, and even comes with an error-proof guarantee. No onboarding fees. No contracts. Just peace of mind, built by Meta’s first AI engineer.

It’s 50 degrees and pouring in NYC. I’m sick as a dog. Not even in a fun, dramatic way—just the classic, soul-draining cold where your entire head feels like it's underwater and looking at a screen for more than three minutes makes you nauseous. And yet… here I am. Writing to you. No, I don’t deserve a medal. But if you want to hand me one (or send me a care package of remedies), I’m not saying no.
Life’s been moving at warp speed lately, and I think my body finally just said: “Hey buddy, how about no.”
Between travel, work, improv, life, being a semi-functioning adult with a job… I think I just hit my limit. People love to tell you “You’re so young!” when you say you’re tired. Yes, I am young. Sorta? I’m still tired. And now I’m sick. So let me be tired & sick in peace.
That said— the lunatic in me likes to convince myself that getting sick does have an upside: it forces you to pause and take stock. Being sick is just the result of doing awesome shit. So in the spirit of finding meaning in mucus, here’s what got me here:
Pulled off 2 sold out improv shows (Show #3 tix on sale now here 👀)
Went to my 10-year high school reunion at a darts bar
Played in my first golf tournament of the year (placed 30th out of 36 #NotLast)
Mugsy is cooking. Our NEW summer shorts just dropped and they’re insane. Can’t stop wearing them
Found a subletter for my apartment this summer. Stress = gone
Got asked to speak on my first panel next week at Lead in NYC
Sat front row as the Celtics dismantled the Knicks (yes I know they lost the series. but they were 1-0 with me in the building. @Brad Stevens, my DMs are open)
Anyways, all of this is a roundabout way of saying, yes, I’d do it all over again in exchange for a roaring cold. A week of hot tea, Vitamin C, and a Mt. Everest amount of tissues sometimes is a meditative reset. It’s also just your body’s way of saying “congrats on doing cool shit, now go lie down.” So here I am. Blogging with an injury. Credit to me.
Keep on keeping on. And if you get sick, remember, it’s just an award for pushing yourself.
