New Years, Nightmares & No's
'24 was fkn nuts - must read
Well, that’s a wrap on 2024. I’d love to sit here and tell you it flew by, but honestly? It felt long. The good kind of long—the kind that leaves you exhausted but proud. Like hiking a mountain or surviving a 100-degree hot yoga class. (Both of which I actually did this year)
But before we look ahead to 2025, let’s take a minute to look back at some of the chaos that made this year what it was—starting with the five most-read Trust Fun newsletters of 2024.
1 year ago, I got laid off from my job at Barstool Sports & had no idea how I was gonna pay rent.
So I did what any normal white bro would do: I moved in with my girlfriend & launched a newsletter.
Today marks 52 straight weeks of Trust Fun. A lot of sh*t 💩 has happened this… x.com/i/web/status/1…

Best Moments of ’24
1. Slumps, Swinging, Skiing - Read here
This one hit close to home because, let’s be honest, 2024 wasn’t all smooth sailing. I talked about getting stuck in slumps—work slumps, mental slumps, the occasional golf slump—and what it takes to swing your way out of them. It was a mix of self-reflection, self-deprecation, and a reminder that sometimes the only way forward is to stop overthinking and just move. Bonus points for the skiing stories and après-ski beers that followed.
2. Lieberman, LinkedIn, Loyalty - Read here
A great sit down interview with Morning Brew founder Alex Lieberman, this was my deep dive into LinkedIn’s chaos and what it actually means to build loyalty—in business and in life. Spoiler: it’s not just about likes, comments, and whatever weird hustle culture quote you reposted. It’s about showing up, being consistent, and keeping your word. (Which, ironically, LinkedIn could stand to learn.)
3. Asses, Apartments, Anecdotes - Read here
A fan favorite, mostly because it covered everything from ridiculous apartment hunting stories to lessons learned the hard way. It’s part overshare, part therapy session, and proof that you can find humor even when things feel like a disaster. This one also got the most “Wait, are you okay?” texts I’ve ever received, which means it was perfect.
4. Tony P, Tabloids, Truths - Read here
A breakdown of media, marketing, and why the truth is always messier than it looks. Plus, a well-deserved shoutout to Tony P for being an absolute icon and not getting nearly enough credit for it. Featuring an exclusive sit down convo the GOAT of all GOATS, Tony P in DC.
5. Year 1, You, Yes - Read here
This was the big one—the year-in-review reflection about saying yes to opportunities, chaos, and growth. It was a reminder that even when things feel uncertain, you can’t go wrong betting on yourself.
Couldn’t Have Done It Without Revenue Roll
None of this would’ve been possible without my guy Michael and the team at Revenue Roll.
Let’s set the scene: It’s Black Friday. You’re expecting to email 75,000 customers, and—oops—half of them end up in spam. Nightmare fuel, right?
That’s exactly why every top brand & newsletter is working with Revenue Roll this year. They specialize in making sure emails actually get read. No spam folders, not in promotions tabs, no missed opportunities—just straight-up results & deliverability.
Michael and his team are offering free deliverability audits to help you fix any gaps before 2025. No strings attached. Book your free audit here. Or just reply to this email, and I’ll intro you personally.
What’s Coming in ’25?
Now for the fun part. Here’s what’s on deck for next year:
1. Launching an Improv Comedy Group in NYC
This has been a dream of mine since I moved to New York in 2019, and it’s finally happening. My friend Vince and I are launching an improv group that’s going to be equal parts irreverent, ridiculous, and hilarious. Trust Fun meets live theater.
We’ve already had a few rehearsals, and the group is stacked with insanely talented actors, filmmakers, and comedians from around the city. First show is targeted for late February—SNL better watch their damn backs. We coming for that ass. Stay tuned for ticket info. Hope you like Cheap Drinks 😉
2. Trust Fun Expanding
Trust Fun grew like crazy in 2024, and thanks to sponsors like Revenue Roll, I actually have money to reinvest in this thing. So next year? More newsletters, maybe video content, possibly a podcast. I don’t know yet, but I’m ready to take risks and build something bigger.
If you want to help—whether it’s writing, producing, partnering, or just brainstorming—reply to this email. Let’s make something cool together. ‘25 is the year of multiple streams of income 🫡
3. Keep Building Mugsy
Mugsy is my favorite company in the world, and this year we crushed it—hit goals, grew profitably, and set the stage for an even bigger 2025. And let’s be clear: we’re just getting started.
So if you haven’t bought jeans yet, now’s the time. Go to Mugsy.com. Treat yourself.
4. Say “No” & Irish Goodbye more
I started saying no to stuff this year, on occasion. I liked it. Saying no is good. Don’t do stuff you don’t want to do. Listen, I’m not saying stop doing stuff. DO STUFF. But, also say no. It’s ok. People might give you shit but who cares? Nothing like a good no. Also, Irish Goodbye more. Irish Goodbyes rule. I love Irish Goodbying.
Final Thoughts
2024 was wild. Thank you to everyone who read Trust Fun, supported Mugsy, bought jeans, and reached out just to say sup. This thing wouldn’t exist without you, and I’m pumped to keep building it in 2025.
Happy holidays. Let’s make next year even bigger. Love you all.
