Opinions, Oktoberfest & Off-the-grid
I got away this weekend. It was awesome.
Powder Day
My beautiful, smart & all around amazing girlfriend and I spent the weekend up in the Catskills in upstate NY. It ruled.
October in the mountains is one of the most amazing things. The colors, the air, the overall vibe of an autumn weekend. Pristine.
Very little phone service. Insanely delicious food. We hiked, went to a local Oktoberfest, drank beer out of a plastic boot, took the chairlift to the top of Hunter Mountain.
It’s very rewarding to be able to take a weekend away like this. I suck at spending money. I hate it. Aside from living in the most expensive city in the world, I really am generally cheap. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been saving for something.
A gameboy, new skis, a playstation, a car, a house etc…
But damn is it nice to take a weekend & just spend your money on something as relaxing & enjoyable as a weekend away.
And let me clarify, a weekend away is NOT a vacation. I hate vacations. Always have, always will. Why?
I stand with Jerry.
But a weekend away is different. It’s smooth & quick. You’re not gonna run out of clothes. You’re not going to get sick of one another (hopefully). You’re only a night or 2 away from getting back to routine.
What’s your opinion? Do you also hate vacations? Lmk… Curious about this.

Anyways. Week 51. 1 till we hit a year. What are you getting me as a gift? Let’s get into it.
Email is king
Email is the engine that drives most of our businesses. Sure, text messaging is becoming more of a ~thing~ , but at the end of the day, email is your life blood. The engine that that you always fall back to.
Every day, as a consumer, you probs wake up to tens (if not hundreds) of emails from brands you’ve shopped from before. “Sale!”, “New Product Alert!” & even more basic “We Miss You!” subject lines flood your inbox. With the hope to get you to come back & buy something else. Many of those emails live in your main inbox, some in the “Promotions” tab, & others are (unbeknownst to you) are stuck in the purgatory that is “Spam.”
The section of the inbox in which those are being delivered is DIRECTLY correlated to how much revenue is being driven for the brands. The difference between landing in the main inbox versus the promotions tab can be a delta of tens of thousands of dollars per email. What does that mean? Literal MILLIONS of dollars every year are being forfeited by brands who don’t put in the work of making sure their emails land in the right email tab. Why aren’t more people focused on this?!
The email epidemic is happening. Email-Gate. Whatever the hell you want to call it… It’s real. Why aren’t we all working to figure this out?
Well, for starters, there has never been a dedicated email tool thats focus is to increase domain reputation & deliverability. UNTIL… My good friend Michael at Revenue Roll created one. The tool is actually insane. In literally 15 minutes, he recovered Chris Meade & Crossnet ~$250k in revenue over the next 45 days. Stop what you’re doing & let Michael audit your account ASAP.
He’s gonna do it for 5 folks who read Trust Fun so act fast- Book here.
